Short careers,Long‑term plans.

A playing career is short, well paid and rarely simple on paper. Signing-on fees, appearance bonuses, image rights and contracts that run for only a few seasons do not sit easily with standard mortgage criteria. We present your income to lenders who understand it and arrange borrowing that still makes sense when the playing days are over. Every enquiry is handled in confidence.

How we help

We act for professional sportspeople at every stage, from a first professional contract to retirement and beyond and work alongside the agents, accountants and solicitors who already look after you.

01Contract-based income

We approach lenders who will assess a current contract, including one signed recently, rather than asking for years of accounts or payslips.

02Bonuses, image rights and endorsements

Income from more than one source, or paid through a company, is set out clearly so that it can be taken into account wherever a lender allows.

03Planning beyond the career

Terms, repayment methods and overpayment options are chosen with life after sport in mind, not only the current season.

04Transfers and tight timescales

A move between clubs often means a move of home at short notice. We coordinate with everyone involved to keep to your dates.

Typical scenarios

Illustrative examples of the situations we are asked to help with. They are not accounts of individual clients.

Scenario 01A newly signed contract

A player joins a new club on a three-year contract and needs to buy near the training ground within weeks, with only one payslip from the new employer.

We identify lenders prepared to rely on the signed contract and prepare the case so that a decision can be reached quickly.
Scenario 02Income through a company

An athlete receives image rights and sponsorship income through a limited company and wants it considered alongside salary.

We work with the accountant to evidence the income and place the case with a lender whose criteria can recognise it.
Scenario 03Earning overseas

A player based abroad and paid in euros wishes to buy a home or an investment property in the UK.

We approach lenders that accept foreign currency income and overseas residency and explain how each would treat exchange rates.

Frequently
asked questions

Can I get a mortgage on a new contract?

Often, yes. Some lenders will lend on the strength of a signed contract without a long history at the club. What is available depends on the length of the contract, your age and the rest of your circumstances.

Will lenders take bonuses and image rights into account?

Some will, in part or in full, where the income can be evidenced. We establish which lenders will do so before any application is made.

My contract ends in two years. Does that limit the mortgage term?

Not necessarily. Lenders consider how the loan would be repaid over its full term, so we set out a credible plan for your income and assets after your playing career.

Will you work with my agent and accountant?

Yes. With your permission we deal with them directly, so that you are asked for information once and your time is protected.

Is my enquiry confidential?

Yes. Your details are shared only with the lenders and professionals needed to arrange your finance and only with your consent.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes. Where appropriate, we are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement for further peace of mind.
